Low Profile Canister Drills

Low Profile Canister Drills

The Center Rock Low Profile Drill features a group of individual 6” class low volume air hammers, each impacting a 7.875” self-rotating hammer bit. The L.P. Drill is designed for drilling soft to extremely hard rock formations. We custom fabricate each L.P. Drill to match the specifications of our customers. Sizes range from 20” up to 120” in diameter.

How it Works

Hammers fitted with 7.875” bits are positioned in a specially designed grid to ensure even cutting across the face of the hole and to promote proper flow of cuttings outward and upward into the calyx basket. For large diameter holes (A) a pilot shaft is drilled with a full face L.P. Drill, then a larger diameter hole opener (B) opens the pilot shaft to the required diameter up to as large as 120”. This method allows for more efficient and faster rock drilling. Our drills have been used to cut holes up to 900 feet deep and are designed to reach much greater depths.

We can Manufacture any Size Drill into a Reverse Circulation L.P. Drill

Our Reverse Circulation L.P. Drill utilizes a unique airflow pattern to eliminate the need for a calyx basket and frequent emptying.
